What is a Music Examination?

A music examination (or exam for short) is a standardized educational assessment program that allows students, families, and teachers to track progress in performance, musicianship, and music theory. Certificates are issued upon completion of levels.

At Mage Music two different certificate programs are offered:

Students progress from one level to the next with elementary, intermediate, and advanced study opportunities.

The RCM offers 3 exams per year while the CM program conducts annual evaluations.

Awards and exclusive performance opportunities are available for students who demonstrate outstanding excellence in their exams.

This studio proudly offers its students the Royal Conservatory of Music® (RCM) certificate program, administered by the RCM College of Examiners.

This studio proudly offers its students the Certificate of Merit® program, administered by the Music Teachers’ Association of California and participating, affiliated Branches.

* MTAC (Music Teachers’ Association of California) is a separate entity from the studio, and the studio does not represent MTAC.
